Christie’s and Important Watches Auctions in Dubai

This year, Christie’s celebrates 5 years of stand-alone watch auctions in the Middle East. With the region’s watch markets developing so fast, Middle Eastern collectors have become more sophisticated and knowledgeable in the fields of modern and vintage timepieces, as well as in detecting unique, rare and limited-edition pieces.

Over the past 5 years, the field of vintage watches has witnessed a major development and to shade the light on this trend, Christie’s Geneva will bring again an important selection of this kind of timepieces of their May auction.

Held on March 19th 2017, the Important Watches auction will showcase a selection of exceptional vintage pieces that includes a Patek Philippe 4th series and a Rolex Paul Newman Panda Dial with their original documents and box, in addition to a refined collection of Cartier watches either unique or number 1 from a very limited-edition series. Added to this selection is a Breguet watch with a custom-made buckle to the emblem of King Hassan II of Morocco, an important Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept tourbillon, an A. Lange & Söhne fine and rare platinum diamond-set flyback chronograph featuring an impressive diamond baguette set case and diamond set dial and a Greubel Forsey “Tourbillon 24 Seconds Incline” watch – to name a few.

As for the ladies, the auction offers the ‘like new’ and unique creation Ladyhawke by Boucheron and Girard-Perregaux, Manchette watches by Cartier, Chopard and Piaget from the 70’s and a timepiece by Harry Winston.
