As interior design has become quintessential in our life, the least we can do is pay tribute to the designers who have made a lasting contribution to its history around the world, making it more of an art form. From the leading designers of the 17th and 18th century to our present day, Barbara and René Stoeltie give us their selection of significant designers from the last four hundred years and showcase elements from their legacy that remain relevant in interior design today.

Following a chronological order, the book places the designers in their historical context and mentions the primary elements that characterized their style or made a revolution in their times, in addition to featuring photographs of the designer’s key works.

Is there a better way to discover the aesthetic values and creativity that shaped the history of interior design?
