They say one should always dream in colors. But he who said that has clearly missed the black and white memo; a memo that revels in depths, artistry and high-fashion. The Haute Couture collections displayed in Paris for Spring 2018 were truly an homage to the beautiful combination of black and white. In fact, designers toyed with this theme so tastefully that the pieces unveiled this week communicated a mysterious language of timelessness and elegance.
Dior, for instance, created whimsical patterns with the two colors, while Chanel highlighted the trend with combinations of accessories and clothes – think black boots and gloves matched with a white ensemble. Everyone put his own special spin on the black-and-white mania and it was, ironically, as colorful as ever!
