If there’s a thing or two we’ve learned from CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2018 runway is that transparency is back; and it is back with a big fashionable bang. It was during Paris Fashion Week that Karl Lagerfeld shared with eager show-goers – time and time again – his unmatched knack for creativity at the heart of the Grand Palais. The designer staged an exceptional show in a fabulously-organized venue.

Leave it to Lagerfeld to make rainy weather outerwear look both chic and elegant! And so, the models were all donning gorgeous prêt-a-porter pieces, from pastel tweed ensembles to romantic silhouettes of oversized white chiffon blouses. The show was akin to being transported into an ethereal bubble and more specifically, into France’s famous natural wonder, Gorges du Verdon.

Perhaps what struck us most was the collection’s dreamy accessories, which fluctuated between transparent and clear thigh-high boots, rain bonnets, fingerless gloves and transparent boater hats. But most importantly, Lagerfeld brought back the House’s favorite handbags and some other newly introduced models. Indeed, the collection boasts a series of oversized totes with the CHANEL logo splattered ever-so elegantly on them, a clear duffel bag, a new version of the bucket bag, minaudières in both clear and metallic versions, fanny packs and finally, a vinyl version of the CHANEL BOY bag. Inspired by the unique beauty of nature and water, the handbags are so sublime and compelling that one would be remiss not to indulge in their splendor. Safe to say, these beauties will be the ideal accoutrements to add to your list of newest buys.
