Your Ultimate Guide to Covering up a Tattoo with Makeup

It’s summer and you’re definitely wearing all the sleeveless tops to flaunt the tattoo that you finally had the courage to get. But wait: what if you have a job interview? Well, as much as you love your new tattoo, sometimes it just isn’t right or appropriate to show it off, so we’ve taken it upon ourselves to guide you through the easy ways of hiding it with makeup. All you need for this procedure is a primer, a full-coverage foundation, a concealer palette, a color correcting crayon and a beauty blender or two.

Start off by prepping your tattoo with primer, which will help even out your skin and keep the products in place for a longer time – just the way it works with the face. If your tattoo features colored details, your color correcting crayon will hide them, if you choose the right shade of course (yes, here’s how to choose the perfect one!). Now, let’s move to the foundation. Using a makeup blender, apply your full-coverage foundation and build it up as needed until you disguise the majority of your tattoo. Next up is the concealer, which should be dabbed on top of the foundation using the makeup blender until your tattoo is completely concealed.

To set all these products, you can either use a setting powder or a makeup setting spray.
