Wearing Boots in Summer – The Do’s and Don’ts

It’s warm, humid and incredibly hot…but you really want to wear your ankle boots with that summer dress you just bought. Even though boots were made to keep your feet warm, there’s something really alluring about the rock-ish vibe they exude. Sure, sandals and espadrilles are the most common routes, but why not spruce up your outfit if you can? Just look at it this way, A-listers have been wearing them with their cute shorts at Coachella and Kendall Jenner is still pairing them with her high-waisted jeans. So the question is, why shouldn’t you?

As these beauties can never go out of season, you should definitely, positively, undoubtedly consider giving boots a try during the summer.

Here’s how it works:

Do let go of boots’ winter companions, from the warm tights to the fuzzy beanies.

Don’t underestimate the power of your legs. Show them off by pairing a romper with some low boots.

Do opt for a boho-chic look with a maxi dress and some leather boots.

Don’t think you can wear any type of boots. The big no-no’s are fur boots, over-the-knee boots and all things fuzzy. We sure don’t want you to suffer from a heat stroke!

Do bring out your inner fashionista and try out open boots. Our heartthrobs? Open-heeled booties and open-toe ones!

Don’t forget about biker boots. They’re edgy, they’re chic and very in! Throw on a denim short and a slogan t-shirt and you are golden!

Do accessorize! Fedoras, chunky necklaces and cross-body bags are your go-to accessories.
