This year, it’s through exquisite high jewelry that Van Cleef & Arpels chose to recount William Shakespeare’s legendary masterpiece, Romeo & Juliet, and like every year, the house never fails to introduce a new language to the industry. Gems come together with the passion embodied in this story in the most wonderful of ways and the beauty of the Italian Renaissance style to form exquisite jewels that exceed our expectations.

“For us, the choice of Romeo and Juliet was a natural one for several reasons. Literature is one of the Maison’s major sources of inspiration, and in 2003 we had already paid tribute to the world of Shakespeare with the A Midsummer Night’s Dream collection,” explains Nicolas Bos, President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Over 100 exquisite marvels present a new vision of Romeo and Juliet, from the balcony scene to the approaching dawn, the birdsong, gardens and architecture of Verona. Even the smallest details of the story, such as the costumes, come alive in these captivating creations through interplay of geometry and curves combined with stone cuts, setting techniques and shades.

With love being at the heart of the collection as well as the story, these pieces remain  faithful to one of the house’s founding themes.
