Valentino Couture Spring-Summer 2020

In Valentino’s world today, life was truly colorful…and in volumes. Pierpaolo Piccioli has always been one to demonstrate true fandom of all-things voluptuous and extravagant, but this collection in particular was out of this world. See, colors were not the only striking element contributing to its success, as models were walking down the runway in a whirlpool of patterns, from polka dot organza blouses to taffeta skirts and statement-sleeved tops matched with contrasting bottoms.

It was truly a feast for sore eyes, as volumes, colors and movements were all linked together in some sort of enchanting symphony, that only Piccioli could really master. The shapes were extravagant and elegant and the color palette even more so. Majestic bows seemed to find their way unto almost every piece, lending it a sort of unabashed elegance. It was all very poetic, a la Valentino of course.

The final looks were so rich with ruffles and movements that it was hard to look away. But after all, isn’t this exactly what Pierpaolo Piccioli is really good at?
