Tiffany & Co. Takes Pearls in High Jewelry to New Heights

Reinterpreting its iconic Bird on a Rock brooch first created by Jean Schlumberger in 1965, Tiffany & Co. released a new exclusive high jewelry capsule collection in Doha: Bird on a Pearl. Using the World’s rarest natural saltwater pearls, the designer’s signature bird was transformed into a selection of exquisite creations. As you might’ve figured by now, we’re not talking about regular pearls but unique ones prized for their size, shape and unrivaled luster, and sourced in the Gulf region, and some were acquired from Mr. Hussein Al Fardan’s private collection who opened his doors to Tiffany & Co. – a rare opportunity among high jewelry houses, and he even offered some of his favorite pearls.

What stood out within the collection was definitely the three-strand necklace of graduated natural saltwater light cream pearls of over 371 carats in total. Along with a pendant, earrings, and rings – set with rare natural saltwater dark grey, grey, light cream, light pinkish-brown, and white pearls – the subtle nods to Jean Schlumberger’s aesthetic stole our hearts.
