The first difference you may have noticed between perfume and eau do toilette is price. Have you ever wondered what the true difference is? Here are a few points that will help you decide whether to make the splurge or not.

Just by looking at the perfume you can see that it is darker in color since it is more concentrated. A "heavier" concentrated version of the scent lasts longer than a lighter eau do toilette. All you will need is a drop or two for the scent to take over and last all day.

If you are sensitive to heavy scents, an eau de toilette is a better choice since it's lighter but still has the same scent as the original.

Whether you go for the more diluted eau do toilette or the heavier perfume, keep in mind the season and time of day. In spring and summer lighter scents are more appropriate. Also in the day time lighter may be more appropriate than a heavier scent which is more suitable at night.
