The Art of Dressing Thinner

If you were ever judged or even body-shamed at a certain point in your life, then you probably relate to the feeling of wanting to lose 10 pounds in one day. Unfortunately, we’re willing to bet that any person reading this article was a victim of body shaming, whether it was for looking too thin or for looking too fat. We live in a world where society sets a certain standard, which believe it or not, redirect our mind towards a given idealistic body image that we can’t realistically look up to. All this just to tell you one thing: dressing thinner is something we’re all trying to achieve, whether we believe in these stereotypical “standards” or not.

And so, to help you dress thinner without having to make you actually lose weight, we’ve compiled a few tips and tricks below:

  1. It’s all about knowing your body and establishing which body type you have. For instance, if you have a bigger upper part, then learning how to hide it will do wonders to your figure – and vice versa.
  2. But it’s also all about perspective. Balance is key and if you’re wearing a slouchy top, then you might as well pair it with skinny jeans to strike a balance in your silhouette.
  3. Horizontal stripes are a big no-no. You know why, we all know why.
  4. Buy clothes in the right size. If you can’t breathe in them, then odds are all your unwanted curves are saying hello to everyone as we speak. If another person can fit with you in your old pair of jeans, then it’s time to buy a new one. It’s important to know that the sleeker your clothes are, the slimmer you’ll look.
  5. Wearing heels with trompette jeans can always make your legs seem so long that even Adriana Lima’s jealous.
  6. Wear Black. Enough said.
  7. A belt can always cinch your waist in all the right ways, so use it to your own advantage!
