The 90s Staples We All Want

Ah, the nineties. The decade of boy bands, funky slogan tees and everything in between. It was a time way, way before our crazy new pandemic reality. It was such a glorious time, we have decided to take a mental break from everything that’s happening, and take you down memory lane. But before we get into the little details of how awesome this decade was, it only seems fair we talk a bit about the importance of fashion history in well, fashion.

See, here’s the deal. Without pinpointing the key moments in history, a designer, a fashion writer, or anyone else for that matter wouldn’t be able to understand why said trend has stood the test of time or has otherwise completely disappeared. And that’s mainly why we’ve seen throughout the decades, a proliferation of fads and trends that have come and gone, marking each time with specific little details.

Which brings up to the subject at hand – the nineties. This decade in particular was the mother of all decades in terms of punk, punk rock, supermodels and everything that follows. We’ve seen teenager rebelling and wearing more revealing outfits. But most of all, we’ve seen the rise of trends such as the slip dress – we’re looking at you Kate Moss – just like we’ve seen the proliferation of squared-toe sandals. So in ode to this rich decade, allow us to count the best trends that have resurfaced more than 30 years later!
