Believe it or not, your hair is equally damaged by the sun as your skin is. And to make sure that your hair stays healthy during the hot season, a few golden rules will make all the difference – just like a good skincare routine. To avoid “fried hair” and keep yours shiny and easily managed, here are a few tips that will definitely be of help to every hair type out there:

1 – Start your season with a trim that rids you of split ends. It’s like opening a new page and starting the new season with a fresh style. And hey, don’t think that’s it because you might need another one mid-season.

2 – Use hair products that contain UV filters on a daily basis, and do not hesitate to wear a wide-brimmed hat if you spend most of your time during the day outdoor in the sun.

3 – Before going for a swim, drench your hair with clean water and leave-in conditioner. In fact, this will keep your strands from absorbing the saltwater or the chemicals in the pool.

4 – Like you switch a few beauty products with the start of a new season, your shampoo and conditioner are also subject to change. So, opt for moisturizing products, and pair them with a clarifying shampoo that you use once a week to clear away the product buildup.

5 – Enjoy the nature of your hair and skip the use of hot tools, as this will only cause more damage. Instead, control your frizz with a drop or two of oil or serum.
