Some Hacks to Make Your Perfume Last Longer

We all love perfume, but what we don’t love so much is carrying the bottle around so we can spray on some more once we feel like the scent faded. But fret not, we’re going to let you in on a few secrets that will allow you to enjoy your yummy smell a little longer.

  • Avoid storing your perfumes in a humid, warm place like your bathroom, as this atmosphere can break down the fragrance and lessen its quality. Speaking of storage, do not get rid of your perfume’s box once you open it because this will help keep it away from daylight.
  • Vaseline or petroleum jelly has so many benefits and believe it or not, it can contribute to making your perfume last longer. So apply it to your pulse points before spraying your perfume in order to make the scent last longer.
  • If your skin is damp, it tends to lock in the scent more, so spray your perfume right after you get out of the shower, before your body dries out.
  • If your skin is oily, you are lucky because oily skin makes perfume last longer naturally. If not, don’t forget to moisturize it with an unscented body lotion before spraying perfumes.
  • When spraying perfume, target your pulse point and warm areas of your body such as you wrist, neck, inside of your elbows, below your midriff, behind your knees and on your ankles and calves.
  • When you spray fragrance on your wrist, avoid rubbing them together because this will cause the top notes of your perfume to fade faster and consequently, your perfume won’t last too long.
  • Last but not least, the type of fragrance plays an important role in this matter as well. While body spray, eau de cologne and eau de toilette have a low concentration in fragrance oils, eau de parfum and extrait de parfum are much stronger and last much longer.
