With Schiaparelli, it’s always about extravagance and creativity in its best form. With that in mind, one could only expect out-of-the-box designs for the Spring 2020 collection. Daniel Roseberry used his own form of creativity and elegance to redefine Schiaparelli’s image, while keeping the same codes and values. The talented American designer sent out models to kick-start the runway show in lavish pantsuits - but not the kind you have in mind. The jumpsuits were eloquent, sharp and with a big touch of extravagance added to the lot. Padded shoulders were a thing and ruffled additions to the shoulders were sending goosebumps through the whole venue. The pieces were flamboyantly alive with ruffled additions cascading down the dresses, golden embroideries on cut-out gowns and of course, the House’s moniker shocking pink color making a refined presence. Two gowns in particular were so magnificent that one couldn’t possibly look away: they were defined with voluptuous forms and striped with breathtaking colors. Who said sophistication should ever be subtle?
