Say I do This Winter in a Perfect Makeup

As charming and as romantic a winter wedding may sound, it might be a tad hard to deal with all its details during the cold weather. In addition to the fact that your dress options are a bit limited,  you also have the stress of finding the perfect winter spot, the ideal flowers and, lest we forget, the makeup that should also reflect the season. That list is pretty long, but for the purposes of this article, we are going to tackle your makeup. So here are some tips.

First of all, you need to know that a winter wedding doesn’t call for a bronzed skin and therefore, bronzer should be off the list when it comes to cheeks. Let’s start off with the base: if your skin is usually dry, make sure to mention this to your makeup artist as it will make for a disaster in the cold weather if it’s not well hydrated. And in order to avoid irritation, why not bring your own hydrating creams to use before applying the makeup? If your wedding is held in a snowy spot – or actually you would like to take some photos in the snow – avoid using sunscreen as it makes your face look pale with the reflection of light.

For a winter wedding, you can also use a variety of lipstick colors that reflect the beauty of this season. So, if you’d like to wear a classic red lipstick or show off your audacity with a dark lipstick color, you should go for a subtle smoky eye. Back to your bridal outdoor photoshoot, don’t forget to pick blue-toned lipstick and blush to get great pictures! It’s also important to tell your beautician whether you’re going to be exposed to winds or not because if you are, waterproof products should be used.

And if you need help finding the perfect destination for your winter honeymoon, look no further.
