Revamp Your Closet During Ramadan

We’re in the midst of the Holy Month, we’re confined in our own homes and we have a lot of time on our hands. But that’s not to say we’re going to drown in boredom! Because if there’s one thing we’ve learned, is that free time equals doing more things that make you a better person. And what makes you a greater person better than re-arranging your own closet and donating the clothes you don’t need to less fortunate families?

Indeed, every year should include a time where we all explore the highs and lows of our wardrobes in search of these items that we haven’t worn in years, or better yet pieces that don’t fit us anymore. This year in particular, why not make the Holy Month the time to do more good and give back?

But if you don’t know where or how to start, fear not…we’ve got your back. Scroll through as we guide you towards a better future!

  1. The number one rule in revamping your closet is the following: if it doesn’t fit you, forget about it. Stop putting yourself in a box and pressuring yourself into fitting into some old clothes. Instead, collect them piece by piece and donate them to people who actually fit in them and well…need them.
  2. If you haven’t worn a certain piece of clothing in a long time, and you suddenly found it in the back of your closet, then just take it to the front and throw it in the pile of “you don’t need them” clothes. You didn’t wear it 10 years ago, and odds are you won’t be wearing it anytime soon.
  3. Make a list of the must-haves that you really want to own. Anything outside of the list should be also thrown in the pile of unused clothes. A list should definitely make your life that much easier.
  4. Once you get rid of all the items you know won’t be in your life either way, re-organize your closet by style and mostly-used. This should also facilitate the process of tidying up on a long-term basis.
