The sixties were very much alive during Prada’s Spring-Summer 2019 runway show, as Miuccia Prada brought back the sweet memories of Jackie O in the House’s own personal way.
In the fashion world, that meant A-line shirt dresses with knee-high socks and – wait for it – pillbox hats. But the mood was also mixed with the spatial feel the House was trying to reenact as well, which also meant, shiny fabrics and fluorescent colors. That said, there were models sashaying their way down the runway in colorful satin shorts and contrasting bodysuits, with sandals that had Prada’s logo on them. Peacoats were a thing and so were the sheer dresses. But what was mostly apparent was that one A-line dress that had flower appliques outlining its trims.
The collection featured new motifs, a thing for satin and flashing and compelling pieces – much like every season.
