Materiality, radical textures and non-organic silhouettes have always been an integral part of Paco Rabanne’s origins, and the Spring-Summer 2023 collection is just another proof of that. Creative Director of the House Julien Dossena explored beneath and beyond the perceptions of sensuality and strength, thus turning the collection into a sublime projection of femininity in the face of unknown forces. With different materials, colors and prints like PVC, latex, cyber-specific hues and flowers, an initial strangeness shifts to sophistication.
The showcased marvels cover a wide variety from slip dresses to boudoir shorts, frothy-tiered skirts, exaggerated combat boots, and a lot more. Not only do they reflect Paco Rabanne’s unparalleled craftsmanship but also a readiness for all conditions, a flex of tactical purpose, and a subculture style. In short, the elemental aspects of Paco Rabanne are transposed to a reality that is rapidly evolving before our eyes.
