Oscar De La Renta Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Ready-to-Wear

Inspired by the rich architectural and cultural references of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, Spain, Oscar De La Renta’s Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection was abundantly charming.

Perhaps it was the galore of warm fabrics hugging the models’ bodies ever-so gently, or perhaps it was the autumnal color palette reminiscent of crisp leaves and fall nights – whatever it was, the venue was a true call of the change of seasons. So you can only imagine the elegance spreading amidst the crowd, shown in a slew of fine tailoring, checked and plaid prints and embellished fur coats. Slouchy leather boots were paired with asymmetrical plaid dresses, creating a beautiful contrast and introducing new definitions of the modern woman’s sophistication. The dresses were ethereal and flowy, exploding in a fury of warm colors, from orange hues to mustard-y yellow tones and of course black. The prints were everywhere and the diversity of fabrics even more so – think a matelassé fabric turned into a strapless princess gown. Our personal favorite? A white dress covered in feathered frocks and highlighted at the waist by a black belt.
