Negative Nails

Can your nails have a personality? Of course, they can! They are probably the easiest way to read what type of a week a girl is having! But when we say negative nails we don’t mean dark and scary like OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. We just mean a space between the colors. Let’s face it, most women are a little bit on the indecisive side. So, when you’re at the nail salon and ask yourself “should I get a light color or a dark color”, why not get both? Somehow, we are always between two colors and cannot, for the life of us, decide which one to get, until finally our cuticles are all cleaned up and it’s crunch time. Time to make a decision! Well we have a solution.

Start off by drawing a straight line horizontally with the first color and painting one half of the nail. After leaving a blank space draw another line with the next color and apply another coat in that area. Voila! Two colors, one manicure. You can get really creative with shades, but one that I came across Pinterest was a combo of OPI's My very first Knockwurst and Essie - Penny Talk. I literally stalked this picture to figure out the colors. So obsessed!

Negative space actually means an area on the nail that is left “blank”, so you can even use one color. Another easier way to do this could also be putting some tape on your nail, and then removing it to create that space.
