Nail Nightmare

Let me begin by saying I am a sucker for any beauty treatment. I love trying new things, but sometimes I need to learn to say “no, thank you.”
I recently tried out a new nail salon and they told me about this product called BioGel. Basically, it’s a coat of gel that goes on as your base coat to make your nails “healthier.” I was familiar with the product but had never tried it before. I had taken a “break” from gel manicures to let my nails “breathe.” I was so excited to do gel again and a treatment that will make my healthy nails even stronger sounded awesome.

So here’s what happened: First off, my nails looked super thick which I didn’t like at all, but I just figured it was a light color and maybe I had one too many coats on top of it. When it finally came time for my next appointment I went to remove my gels, and get a new shade. The technician wanted to save time by filing down my nails with a nail file drill. This was a huge mistake and now my nails are thin and brittle. They are so thin, they hurt. Sounds horrible right? Well, just like hair, it will grow back but here are a few things I have been doing to help them grow stronger.
I am taking biotin, using Nailtique as a base coat which is really helping, and getting weekly manicures. I am not hating on Biogel, but just giving you a fair warning; make sure your technician is following the right technique when removing the gel.
