Morph into a Fun Mom for the Holidays

Nothing is more joyful than the holiday season, and your kids definitely know that! So, it’s the time to transform yourself into a fun mom and immerse them in the holiday spirit. And to do so, you need some out-of-the-box ideas that will make spending time with family and friends as amusing as it can be. So, to help you achieve this task successfully, here are a few activities that will make the festive season one to be forever remembered.

1 – Kids love painting, so why don’t you get them some white balls or old t-shirts and let their creativity run wild by letting them paint on the pieces.

2 – We know how much you like getting photographed, so planning a family holiday-themed photo shoot will make you both happy and give you the chance to create memories and keep them in a photo album.

3 – Living in the Gulf means that the holidays are snowless, and that might be a little sad if your kids really want to build a snowman. But did you know that shaving some ice could allow them to do so? Yes, it will be super messy, but it will definitely be worth it!

4 – If you want to get the best out of your kids’ imagination, ask them to write their own holiday storybook.

5 – Baking cookies or biscuits and decorating them is a classic during the festive season. Need we say more?

6 – Netflix is filled with festive movies, which makes a movie marathon with some popcorn a great activity to gather the family.

7 – Kids like singing and we bet that a festive karaoke night will be a great idea, especially if you invite their friends over.

8 – If your kids are into handcrafts, there is so much you can do to feed their love. Have you thought about giving them the opportunity to craft holiday cards or a calendar for 2019?

9 – During the holiday season, festive markets are everywhere, so dedicating a whole weekend to visit each and every one of them will make your children super happy!

10 – For New Year’s Eve, allow your kid to celebrate by hosting a slumber party for his or her friends.

11 – Don’t forget that the festive season is the season of giving and your kids should learn that. Therefore, let them clean up their toys and plan a visit to an orphanage where they get to make other children happy as well.

Happy holidays!

Let Your Kids Enjoy Fall

Your kids are now exhausted from all the activities that filled their summer with fun and joy. However, each season offers us loads of activities to enjoy. As the temperatures go down and your kids are back to school, you need to find new activities to occupy them with and allow them to enjoy this wonderful season. To help you, we’ve come up with 5 activities that will surely draw a big smile on their faces.

1 – As the tree leaves turn orange, yellow and brown, nothing beats a little walk in the garden – or an exploration journey for your kid while he/she discovers the beauty of this season.

2 – If your child is into crafts, take him or her for a walk to gather tree leaves of all colors and bring them back home to come up with an art piece using these leaves. From flowers to butterflies, a lot can be done with these colorful autumn offerings.

3 – Fall activities should calm your children instead of filling them with excitement. Therefore, board games will encourage your little ones to think harder and improve their intellectual skills from the comfort of your own home.

4 – If your kids are into cooking, a lot of fun awaits you in the kitchen. Apples are most probably one of autumn’s most delicious fruits so why don’t they join you and enjoy baking some yummy treats?

5 – Last but not least, painting is a children’s favorite activity. Therefore, it would be a great idea if you sit with your little angels and watch them draw using fall’s warm colors. This will give them the chance to let their creativity run wild and discover the hues that make this season all the more charming.

Protect Your Kids from the Sun with These Indoor Activities

It’s July, which means the weather is pretty hot and the sun is sizzling. Therefore, the best thing to do is to keep your kids indoors, especially between 12 noon and 4 in the afternoon. However, it’s always hard to convince a child to stay indoors when all they want to do is go out and play, so you better find them a fun alternative and that’s what we’re here for!

  • Your little ones just want to have some fun and by scheduling play dates once a week, you will get your kids to look forward to meeting their friends.
  • Does your kid like camping? Well luckily for you, children’s toy stores are full of easily buildable indoor tents that can also be considered a décor item in their room. Help them build it and let it be the realm that will be the house of their puppets and dolls.
  • No matter the weather or the circumstances, your children spend at least one hour on YouTube a day, so why don’t you use this app to teach them some handcrafts and spend hours trying to do them together?
  • Legos, puzzles and crafts are a few activities that can help your kid’s imagination and creativity grow, so let them tell you which one is their favorite and make it a hobby. Book them some time with a teacher who can help them learn how to play an instrument or teach them how to dance, if this is what they like.
  • Summer is the perfect time to eat ice cream and sorbets, so instead of buying them from the supermarket, why don’t you put your aprons on together and prepare them in the comfort of your own kitchen – the healthy way of course!

These are just a few ideas that will encourage your kid to spend some time indoors, and we’re sure that we’ve provided you with some inspiration to come up with other creative ones yourself.

Beach Fun – 5 Activities Your Kids Would Enjoy

School is over and your kids have become frequent visitors of the beach. Their visits are now a daily routine to enjoy the sun with their friends and have some fun. So, it’s your turn to play the superhero and guide them through some activities that bring out their sense of competition.

Want some ideas? Here are a few that will make this task easier on you! Keep in mind that competitions bring out the best in your children while teaching them to have a sense of sportsmanship.

  • Organize a castle building competition. Playing with sand is already a great pleasure for your kids and one could only imagine how enjoyable it would be for them to compete for building the most beautiful sand castle.
  • If your kids were old enough, encourage them to be adventurous and avoid being the kind of moms who transfer their fears to their children. Snorkeling, diving or even learning how to swim without floats can be some of their great pleasures!
  • If you feel that your little ones spend a lot of screen time at home, it’s good to take advantage of this beach trip to allow them to grow some muscle. Explain to them that tablets are for indoors and beach trips are for more exciting and fun activities. Hit the beach and take a walk on the sand with them as this will be a great exercise for their legs.
  • Back to the concept of competitions! Let them participate in a swimming competition in the pool with their friends, after which the winner gets a small reward. It’s all about the incentive!
  • Kids love jumping in the pool and watching the water splash everywhere, so why don’t you hire a professional to teach them how to jump in creative ways and watch them impress their friends.

Style Your Child the Easy Way

Probably one of the hardest tasks a mother can do is dress her kids in the morning. After all, not only does she have to face a more-than-probable tantrum, but she also has to actually get them to wear the clothes. Consider it a rite of passage to motherhood or consider what you may, it’s an inevitable fact that children are way more difficult to dress than anyone else.

But it’s also an inevitable fact that kids fashion has come a long way. I’m sure that you’ve come across several Instagram pages where mothers dress up their daughters with the same outfit, along with the hashtag #MiniMe. If you haven’t, then you must have noticed that kids nowadays are a lot more stylish than they used to be. Parents play a huge role in this part, as they infuse a touch of their already-existing fashion sense into their children – which is completely normal as long as it does not cross boundaries. And so, with all that in mind, how will you style your child this season? Below, we share some tips and tricks to get the warm season kick-started!

  1. Contrary to adults, dressing children should never privilege style over comfort. If it’s not comfy enough, then abort mission. Your kids should be able to play, jump and act like kids in their clothes. And if their outfit gets in the way of them simply being kids, then that’s a clear sign of a no-no outfit.
  2. Always dress for the weather. Kids are more vulnerable to weather changes than adults, therefore, although said outfit might look cute at the moment of inception, it might not protect your children from a potential breeze, or from an unexpected shower. Even if they don’t want to, this issue in particular should not be their choice.
  3. Choose the appropriate attire for their age and make sure you don’t implement any premature options on them – i.e., no makeup, perhaps no sequins and so on. There are some styles that are probably a bit too old for them and they should enjoy their age as much as possible.
  4. If you don’t know the dress code of an event, it’s better to underdress them than to overdress them.
  5. Finally, let them have some input into their clothing options. When they feel like they’re free to choose their clothes, they’ll be less resistant to your options as well.

Tips to Protect Your Little Ones from the Sun

When summer starts, it’s only natural for kids to go out to play under the stinging rays of the sun. And since our kids are more vulnerable to the sun’s harmful rays than us, here are some precautions to take before they run free in the beautiful sunny outdoors.

First, your kids need sunblock not sunscreen, as the latter contains one too many chemicals for their age. In fact, sunblock should be used for your kids until they reach the age of 5 if not more.

Besides that, your 6-month old should not be left outdoors with uncovered legs and arms. So if it’s really necessary to go outside, make sure to dress your kid in long-sleeves and pants in order to protect them from UV rays. With this in mind, you can opt for clothing and hats with UV protection especially if you’re about to spend a lot of time outside.

Last but not least, make sure to provide your little ones with a lot of fluids while they’re spending their time in the sun. This will definitely protect them from getting dehydrated and keep them refreshed.

Now that we have provided you with some useful tips, we want to wish you a happy summer!

What About Some Warm Weather Fun with the Kids?

When the sun shines, we, as adults, are so happy and excited to go back to our summer activities, so just imagine how your kids will feel. They have been studying all year long and the least you can do for them is treat them to some outdoor fun. With temperatures rising, you have to let them enjoy the beautiful weather before it gets too hot. With this in mind, we have come up with a list of activities that will definitely make this season as enjoyable as it could be.

  • While the temperature is still bearable, the first activity that comes to mind is a hiking trip in nature, or a day spent in the desert. So don’t forget to prepare some snacks, just in case the kids get hungry!
  • The second idea would be to let your kids enjoy the outdoor space of your house. But before they do so, make sure they are wearing some old clothes because it can get really messy out there.
  • If your outdoor is big enough, bring some old sheets, ropes and wood batons and help your kid learn how to build a tent to which they can invite their friends.
  • Since the summer is not in full swing yet, you can always find some time where it’s a bit windy; so take this opportunity to take your kids to the beach and let them fly some kites. Believe us, this will definitely trigger their sense of exploration, so prepare yourself for some questions!
  • If you feel like your children like to cook, let them enjoy preparing some homemade ice cream, sorbets or popsicles with their favorite fruits. This will allow them to enjoy a healthy, refreshing snack.
  • Biking, roller-skating and playing football are always options that allow your children to have fun and enjoy the nice weather and the sun.
