Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Ready-to-Wear

“A museum within a museum”: Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection, Nicolas Ghesquière recreated Paris’ Centre Pompidou inside the Louvre. And here’s how; Centre Pompidou has been, since its creation, home to an explosion of colors ranging from blue to yellow, green and red – the blue color symbolizing the air circulating, yellow for circulating electricity, green for circulating water and finally red for circulating people.

With that in mind, you can only imagine the nest of colors that was Louis Vuitton’s collection. Think grey and white tweed rendered even more beautifully pretentious with pops of colors, from red leather pants to bright yellow boots and colorful waist-belts. The collection was highlighted with a couple of statement elements, such as the bouffant sleeves, the strong eighties-inspired shoulders and the majestic ruffles. Prints were obviously a thing, as numbers featured a black and yellow checkerboard print, tartan, floral, leopard and plaid prints. And with the four aforementioned colors taking over the line, one could easily spot the many articles that would soon make their way to the closets of fashion connoisseurs, from the retro bordeaux and black leather jacket, to the bright blue pantsuit with white trimmings and the statement green scarf – amongst many other offerings.
