She did it again, she somehow became the topic of everyone's discussion. Whether you love it or hate it, you somehow found yourself talking about Kim Kardashian's new hair color. Known for her long dark healthy mane, Kardashian recently had chopped off inches, displaying a shorter more girlie-like look. Though many people were shocked since this long hair was Kardashian's trademark look, many welcomed the change and even considered a trip to the hairdresser themselves. A few weeks later paparazzi spotted Kardashian at the airport in a beanie which looked suspicious considering that is hardly a Kardashian fashion staple. To everyone's surprise, during Paris Fashion Week Kardashian revealed her new platinum blonde hair.

Pictures of her hair spread like wildfire. Was husband rapper Kanye West the reason behind it?  Perhaps its the influence of Kardashian's trusted ultra-blonde makeup artist Joyce Bonneli. She later posted an Instagram picture of Bonneli's hairdresser, thanking her for the recommendation. We all can relate, we all have had that one friend that we think is so charmingly beautiful and we make sure they give us the name and number of their hairdresser. The only problem with this is; what works for your friend may not work for you. I had this experience about a year ago. I ran into a girlfriend at a party and fell in love with her hair color. I started seeing her colorist who slowly started lightening my hair. One day I found myself looking in the car mirror and seeing someone I no longer recognized! I was blonde. Suddenly everywhere I went I felt like men were turning their heads. I wasn't sure what was going on until I realized what they meant by "blondes have more fun"! A week passed by and after a few shampoos my hair started looking orange.

The problem with making dark Middle Eastern hair blonde is that it usually has a lot of red in it and only a true color expert can make sure this doesn't occur. After months of spending hundreds of dollars on highlights, I went to another hairdresser and asked him to make my hair dark again. As soon as he removed my towel I was so happy to see my old self again. Young and natural! I felt great and vowed never to go blonde again. This lasted about a year until yesterday, when I found myself asking for "just a few highlights." Here we go again. Blame it on Kim, blame it on the warm weather or just being a woman who loves change. There is something about blondes that make many men intrigued. It might just be the fact that it is so different from what they are used to growing up around. If I went to Sweden I believe most men would be obsessed with brunettes.

TIPS:

If you aren't ready to book your flight to Sweden just yet, here are a few amazing products to keep your blonde hair looking sun-kissed. Schwarzkopf's BlondMe line is great because it protects, lightens and keeps hair color from looking yellow. Since bleaching your hair can cause lots of damage, make sure you are protecting your hair and taking good care of it after the process by using a great conditioner. The BlondMe line has a nourishing Keratin Restore Blonde Mask that is great for keeping blonde hair healthy looking. Another great line is Serge Normant's Meta Blonde line. This shampoo and conditioner will keep your blonde color from fading, restoring hair shine and smoothness by containing ingredients like coconut and jojoba oil. With the correct products and a professional hair dresser, you can welcome spring with a new lighter hair look. Remember worse comes to worse you can use a toner to make it go darker.
