How to Fully Benefit from Your Face Mask

Face masks are simply the marvel of the beauty world. However, to benefit the most of them, you should use them the right way and that’s what we’re going to help you with this time. With this in mind, here are the golden rules that you should follow after choosing the right mask for your face according to your dermatologist’s recommendations – of course.

– Before using a mask, make sure to prep your skin first. Yes, a mask treatment is not as easy and fast as you think it is! In order to get the full benefit, you should clean and gently exfoliate your skin. Start off by applying a thin coat of exfoliating peel and leave for 3 to 10 minutes in order to dissolve all dry skin cells. After rinsing well and patting your face dry, apply the face mask that is appropriate for your skin type.

– If you have specific problem spots, multi-tasking – or shall we say, multi-masking – is extremely safe as long as you pay attention not to layer the masks on top of each other. With this notion in mind, do not hesitate to apply a mask that treats your forehead from breakouts while applying a moisturizing one that protects your cheeks from drying out.

– Avoid using a mask that dries out your skin. How can you know that it does? After it dries, try to smile and if it cracks into a million pieces, avoid using it once again.

– If your skin burns after applying the mask, it must contain something that irritates your skin. Therefore, remove it immediately using warm water and a gentle cleanser, then move to applying a soothing moisturizer. If any rash appears, ask your dermatologist for a specific treatment and try to find out what caused these symptoms in order to avoid using other masks that contain the same ingredient.

– After removing your mask, apply a moisturizer that leaves your skin radiant and well hydrated.

– Applying your mask after a shower is quite nice because the hot water will cause steam, which helps open your pores and makes the mask more beneficial than ever.

– Avoid leaving your mask on longer than directed because it may end up irritating your skin rather than providing it with extra benefits. 20 minutes are just enough!

– Make sure to wash your hands well before applying the mask.

– According to experts, using a mask once a week is ideal. However, this may vary from one skin type to another.
