Health Benefits of Celery

I recently started hearing about the health benefits of celery juice so I decided to give it a try. Not being a fan of celery, I was a little hesitant. I finally decided to try it, but was shocked to find out the market was sold out of celery. I don’t know about you but when something is sold out I just have to have it. Sold out of celery? I found another market and bought a few bags, I had to know what the big deal was. Have I had celery juice before? Being a juice lover, yes of course, I have juiced almost every fruit or vegetable I can find in the fridge. Have I drunk it alone? Never.
To be honest the taste wasn’t bad at all. It tasted, well, like celery!

Now onto the list of benefits and claims. Note: they say the best way of doing this on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.

The first thing is that celery has a lot of water. Therefore, drinking it will definitely hydrate you, but some may argue that drinking plain water might just do the same. Celery contains vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin B6, manganese, magnesium, calcium, potassium, folate and riboflavin. If you don’t juice it you also get tons of fiber.
It’s great for digestion, is anti-inflammatory and helps with overall gut health. It also lowers blood pressure. These are all facts, but the trend of celery juicing claims that it will also clear up acne and even prevent cancer cells from growing. There is still so much research that needs to be done, but all this info is enough to get me drinking it.
