Guerlain, UNESCO and Angelina Jolie Inaugurate New Phase of Women for Bees Program

Always with the vision of supporting women entrepreneurs and addressing the risks facing the honeybee population, Guerlain, UNESCO and Angelina Jolie open a new chapter in their “Women for Bees” program. Following the Summer 2021 graduation of the first cohort of beekeepers, a new phase starts in Cambodia, with a six-month training program for 11 new female beekeeping trainees picked by the UNESCO team.

This time, the new phase is the fruit of a collaboration with the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation while the House’s muse is joined by beekeeper Aggelina Kanellopoulou, a graduate from the 2021 cohort – allowing this year’s participants to benefit from her experiences and practices. Just like it did in the South of France in June 2021, this training program will not only provide the new trainees with both theoretical and practical beekeeping knowledge and skills required to mount and manage a sustainable beekeeping operation but will also tackle the specific local value of and threats to the honeybee populations.
