Elevate Your Shower Routine with These Tips

A regular shower doesn’t need more than some soap, water and shampoo – or so you think! In fact, a shower can really affect the appearance of your skin and the health of your hair. Therefore, it’s essential to follow the right techniques in order to take your shower routine, as well as your look, to the next level. So, here are some tips that will help you reach the ultimate results.

  • The water temperature is very important when it comes to taking a shower, as using boiling hot water will strip your skin from its natural oils and makes it look dry. Luke warm water is just perfect!
  • Changing your loofa on a monthly basis is such an essential step in your quest for the perfect hygienic shower routine. With this in mind, don’t share it with anyone under any circumstances!
  • We all love how our skin feels after a good scrub but over-scrubbing can be too irritating. Once or twice a week is enough to get rid of dead skin cells and promote new cell growth.
  • Your hair also gets its share of care in this process. First, brush it before getting it wet in order to avoid getting it more tangled.
  • When shampooing your hair, distribute the amount of shampoo evenly and focus on the nape of the neck because it can be the oiliest area. Keep scrubbing for at least 30 to 60 seconds.
  • When it comes to conditioner, be aware that leaving the latter for extra time won’t give your hair more benefits. However, it’s very important to use a deep conditioner or a hair mask once a week.
  • Now that your shower is over, it’s time to hydrate your body. Apply lotion immediately while you’re still damp in order to lock the water in your skin. Could be a slightly annoying feeling, but believe us, the results are worth it!
  • Last but not least, your face needs some care as well. So start washing it with warm water, as the latter opens your pores and lets the product work its magic by penetrating your skin well. Then, wash the product off with cold water to close the pores.
