Dior Fall/Winter 2020-2021 Ready-to-Wear

“Feminine Beauty is A Ready-Made”. That’s the statement that Maria Grazia Chiuri lead her Fall/Winter 2020-2021 runway show with, amidst a sea of eager show-goers - all of whom were looking forward to seeing what the next feminist collection would look like. Indeed, showing up to the venue meant stepping into a concrete life-size artwork, where the floor was artwork and so was the ceiling. The latter represented collective artist Claire Fontaine’s chef-d’oeuvres and were reminiscent of Chiuri’s love for art. With that in mind, the runway show kick-started with an androgynous black suit with a white button-down shirt and a black necktie, mending the bridge between femininity and masculinity. There was one black boiler-suit that fitted the model like a glove and there were see-through shirts layered with fancy knits and tulle skirts.  But most of all, there were checkered pieces that ranged from capes, mini-skirts, jackets and accessories. There were the occasional denim pieces and other numbers that featured 3D florals. But all in all, the collection was radiating femininity vs masculinity in a sea of fringes, neckties and all-things Dior!
