Dior Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Ready-to-Wear

We’ve come to expect a lot of ingenuity from Maria GraziaChiuri – after all, in the span of just a couple of years, the designer had delivered a lot. And today, for Dior’s Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection, Chiuri recreated the House’s history in the most modernistic kind of ways.

Indeed, the runway show draws on the ABC’s, where each letter represents a different woman, forming a poem made of an alphabet by Italian artist TomasoBinga. The collection itself was a treat for sore eyes, as Chiuri sent out models donning bucket hats and a sturdy attitude. The first model strutting down the runway was dressed in a slogan tee that said “sisterhood global”, matched with a thick belt and a pleated wool skirt. The looks were so rich, from the materials used to the styles adopted. There were vinyl coats, tartan trousers and tulle strapless dresses. The prints melted into one another like they always belonged together – think stripes with checkered fabrics. Lumberjack shirts were transformed into feminine shirt dresses cinched at the waist with a belt, proving yet again that women will prevail. The eveningwear section featured delicate tulle dresses with slightly plunging necklines – the House’s moniker style.
