Decluttering Makeup for 2019

I have a love hate relationship with decluttering. I love the result, but the process of getting rid of things I have bought makes me a little nervous. I literally use ten percent of my makeup, but every time I get ready, I have such a hard time finding everything I need. With this New Year I am trying to practice the art of minimalism. I do love trying new products, but as soon as I find that it’s not one of my favorites, why do I feel the need to hold on to it? This is why I have decided to either toss or donate all items that I no longer need. Here is what my goal is.

Foundation- Only keep one for winter and one for summer. For winter I will keep a hydrating lighter shade and for summer I will have an oil free darker shade.

Blush- I have so many blush colors that don’t look right on me. Toss or give to a friend all the wrong shades! Only keep favorites.

Eyeshadow-Yes, it’s nice to have many eyeshadow choices, but let’s be real, you aren’t using every single color in all those palettes you have. Actually, a palette is a simple way of telling you which colors you are into and which ones you are not. That sparkly green shade may have looked super cool in the store, but chances are you will never dip into it.

Last but not least, lip colors. I feel like the older we get the better we are at realizing what looks good on us and what doesn’t. If you put it on and you think “oh no this is not right for me,” don’t put it back in the drawer. Get rid of it right away!
