For this year’s edition of Dubai Watch Week, Chopard developed a unique crystalline sound, which was offered in a new watchmaking masterpiece – the L.U.C Strike One. In fact, this new model stands as a true testament of the Maison’s expertise in chiming watches.
Limited to 25 pieces crafted in ethical 18-carat white gold, this timepiece houses the new L.U.C 96.32-L movement in its refined 40 mm-diameter case, bears the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark and features a hand-guilloché solid gold grey-green dial with a honeycomb motif. Being the only chiming watch with a sapphire gong directly attached to the crystal, this release must be as magical from the inside as it is from the outside. Through the cut-out positioned at 1 o’clock and revealing the mirror-polished steel hammer, a crystal-clear and elegant chime is generated as time passes. And just below this is a monobloc sapphire gong that make this timepiece so exclusive.
Thanks to the chime-in-passing mechanism, the watch chimes only once every time the minutes hand reaches 12 o’clock, 24 times a day, with the passing of each hour. Therefore, the produced sound resonates alone, with its exceptional intensity, clarity and length – making this solo performance a true embodiment of Chopard’s expertise in the field of striking mechanisms.
