Chopard Revives Its 1993 Icon with Happy Sport the First

1993 was a year that witnessed an innovative alliance between steel and Diamonds. Chopard was the author and Happy Sport watch was the story that brought together charm and modernity in an unprecedented way. Almost three decades later, this icon is honoured with two 1,993 and 788-piece limited-edition re-releases of the timepiece that started it all.

Major innovations were added to the legendary diamonds and the “pebble-link” bracelet – think a new case in Lucent Steel A223 redesigned in a 33mm diameter inspired by the principles of the golden ratio and the Manufacture Chopard 09.01 –C movement with automatic winding. While the first defines the proportions of the new Happy Sport the First models to ensure they feel pleasant to wear, the contemporary vintage bracelet makes them very similar to the original model of 1993.

Dancing diamonds take part in this contemporary-meets-vintage phenomenon, epitomizing the noble legacy of casual chic style so dear to Chopard. By symbolizing freedom, they make a revolution in women’s relationship with time as the Maison proves once again its everlasting commitment to sustainable luxury.
