It was during the Cannes International Film Festival that Chopard launched a new chapter in The Journey to Sustainable Luxury in collaboration with Chloë Sevigny, designing jointly a Green Carpet Collection bag with a sustainable story.

The Maison announced that it would be expanding its commitment to sustainability within its luxury accessories collection, introducing sustainably sourced leather.

Considered as the leading ‘Red Carpet Jeweller’ worldwide, the House’s new Chopard bag is the ultimate accessory to complement a red carpet-worthy outfit.

Commenting about the new collaboration, Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, said: “Chloë is a global style icon. When I heard that Chloë also has a real interest for sustainability, I knew she would be the perfect person to collaborate with to design a special bag for Chopard. True luxury is knowing the story behind the pieces we wear, and I am thrilled that Chloë shares this mindset and has joined us on our Journey to Sustainable Luxury”.

So what about the bag, might you ask? The new creation is inspired by iconic images of the 1940s combined with playful geometric lines and Chloë and Caroline’s lively and fresh outlook. Powered by sustainability, everything about the bag screams “responsibly sourced and fully-traceable leather”. And so, Chopard’s role in making sure the design stays in line with its new sustainable journey, comes to life with a collaboration with its suppliers to ensure that each step of the process meets The Eco-Age Principles for Sustainable Excellence.

“I love collaborating with brands who aren’t afraid to do things differently”, says Chloë Sevigny. “The jewellery industry is known for its environmental and social challenges, but Chopard is committed to doing business in a better way and has proven that it can be done. I was inspired by all of their incredible work as part of The Journey to Sustainable Luxury and my design actually came from the theme of LOVE- for people and planet.
