It’s the time of the year we’ve all been waiting for as Chopard is commemorating once again the Asian traditions of the next sign to be celebrated on the Chinese zodiac: the rat, and the famous Japanese art of Urushi. Thus, the distinguished L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Rat timepiece was released.
With a limited edition of 88 pieces, this chef d’oeuvre is made of 18-carat rose gold case. What makes it so perfect is its symbolic – out-of-this-world – dial that is entirely hand crafted with the Urushi lacquer technique. This meaningful artsy dial depicts abundance with an ear of corn, longevity with the khaki fruit and a mix of passion, charm, intelligence, faithfulness and optimism through the rat. As for the elegant straps, they are made of hand-sewn black alligator leather with a brown alligator leather lining and completed with a polished 18-carat rose gold pin buckle. At the heart of this water-resistant artful creation beats a Chopard Manufacture mechanical self-winding movement featuring the L.U.C 96.17-L calibre that we can admire through a transparent sapphire case-back. With a 65-hour power reserve, this ultra-thin timepiece will definitely be a nice addition to every watch enthusiast’s collection.
