Guests entered a world of a bygone era at Burberry yesterday. From the copy of Virginia Woolf's novel 'Orlando' which each received, to the magical English garden at new venue Makers House complete with Burberry sculptures, and makers showcasing their crafts some sculpting others tassel making, it was just perfect. But whilst the setting may have been immersed in history, the show was very much rooted in the "see now buy now" spirit that designers have embraced. Pieces went directly on sale after the show with new season ads live online. Playing with the concept of gender, Christopher Bailey blurred the lines between the masculine and the feminine, summer and winter. There were exquisitely tailored cavalry jackets and roomy aviator jackets styled with ruffles skirts and silk pyjamas. Billowing poets' blouses and brocade dresses gave a touch of romance and there was a new bag for the season, The Bridle bag.
