Baby Dior Unveils Spring-Summer 2019 Collection

So what does Baby Dior have in store for us come Spring-Summer 2019? A journey to the four corners of the world, worthy of Christian Dior’s recurrent desire to travel. And so, Cordelia de Castellane, Baby Dior’s Creative Director, thought back to the very first time a fortune teller told Christian Dior “You will have to travel widely”. Because widely he did.

The collection takes part of a charming story spanning from India, to Italy and Japan, presenting the House’s heritage with de Castellane’s vivid imagination. The journey kick-starts in the land of the Arabian Nights and more specifically in a majestic palace, where silk and twinkling tulle come together to create fluid dresses of Persian red, ivory and gold. The saga resumes in Pondicherry, where boys get all dressed up in pieces featuring tiger and elephant patches, sacred animals in India, as well as clocks, while girls glow in their Indian pink and saffron dresses and safari jackets. Along comes the Land of the Rising Sun, at the heart of Tokyo. Little girlies shine in pleated skirts and cherry blossom fabrics, inspired by Japanese school uniforms and boys revel in denim. Next stop, the US’ grand boulevards in bikes and skateboards. The dress code? Sequined blousons, pastel colors and embroidered rainbows that recall Californian vibes. The voyage ends in Naples, where our young adventurers stroll around in dresses and jumpsuits with precious embroidery.
