Avoid Making These Mistakes Before Your Wedding

Getting married is pretty exciting – I mean apart from the fact that you have to plan a whole extravaganza and a series of celebrations a year prior to the fixed date. But yeah, it’s basically all fun and games until you realize that you are unintentionally doing some common mistakes you could have easily avoided.

Planning a wedding involves months upon months of work, from finding your planner, to setting a date, the venue and a series of other head-scratching matters. Granted, you’ve surely spent countless hours drawing inspiration from Pinterest boards, bridal magazines and your friends’ previous experiences, but nothing can top knowing the most common mistakes brides-to-be do before their wedding day.

So ladies, bear with us as we take you through the bridal secrets you should definitely steer clear of.

  1. Acting impulsively. Don’t make any decisions without going into all the logistics of the planning process. Think everything through with your other half and wedding planner in order to optimize your results.
  2. Not having a Plan B.  In the wedding business, anything – yes, anything – can go wrong, from the weather, to the venue and the guest list. So unless you’re really prepared and you’ve laid down your options in case things get awry, you’re in for a long and tiring ride.
  3. Over-inviting. Now that’s perhaps the most common mistake, as couples often prepare a guest-list that involves a lot of strangers (friends of the family, friends of friends, strangers, etc..). If you don’t know them, don’t invite them. You will have a much better time come the big day if you don’t have to worry about people having fun.
  4. Not being picky about the photographer. Let’s be honest here; pictures are the one and only way to commemorate your special day. And so, if your pictures are – to put it mildly – not very pretty, it will ruin the whole memory you’ve built of your wedding day. In order to avoid this, couples should always take their time when choosing their photographer and hence, check out their previous work for future reference.
  5. Assigning people to particular seats. No one wants to be told what to do, let alone where to sit and who to talk to. So, to minimize the drama, just assign your guests to tables and not seats.
