10 Sizzling Mother-Of-The-Groom Dresses

There are a lot of rules and dress-codes in the fancy world of weddings – for instance, only the bride should wear white and the bridesmaids’ dresses should ultimately complement each other. And as for the mother of the groom, her look should be ever-so understated and in harmony with the mother of the bride’s dress.

Basic traditional guidelines clearly state that the mother of the groom should wait for the mother of the bride to choose her dress before picking hers, in order for them to complement each other. That said, both dresses should obviously not match but merely flow well together. And one of the many bridal protocols require her to steer clear of off-white and white derivatives so she doesn’t steal the bride’s thunder. But of course, since we’re in the 21st century and rules are always meant to be broken, the guidelines have been revisited and have given the mother of the groom much more liberty in her choices. At the end of the day, what matters most is that the bridal “party” is happy and so, the mother of the groom should always check with the bride and groom when it comes to the dress.

Last-Minute Short Wedding Guest Dresses

Finding ourselves in a little fashionable rut, are we? Fear not, miladies. We’ve got just the solution for you…

We all know that weddings are not the easiest occasions to choose dresses for. First, you’d have to know the theme of the wedding, the location and well, the dress code. And of course, you can’t wear any shades of white, you can’t steal the bride’s thunder – because how dare you – and you can’t wear billowing gowns if it’s a casual wedding. Yes, the restrictions are endless but the styles you can pick from are even more so. That said, short dresses are the perfect companion to any wedding you have to attend, from the wedding of a family member to that of your close friend or that of a distant one. Luckily, we’ve seen a lot of beautiful short dresses lately, embellished with bouffant sleeves, nice patterns, luscious sequins or asymmetrical cuts.

The important thing here is to accessorize like you’ve never accessorized before – meaning, epic shoes, evening bag, jewelry and all that comes in-between. Check out what we’ve picked for you and choose your favorite!

Say Yes in an Off-the-Shoulder Bridal Gown

Ah the tremendously hectic dilemma of “which dress should I wear to my wedding” … the happy, yet overwhelming rite of passage that almost all brides have to go through. The thing is, you can consider it a “problem” and spend your bride-to-be days as a nagging bridezilla, or you can go the high-road and look – albeit really closely – at the silver lining: shopping can really be fun!

But let’s discuss the bridal trends first; there are many cuts that have made it to the must-have bridal list, but if there’s one that will forever be timelessly elegant, it’s the off-the-shoulder trend. There’s something about showing off your bare shoulders that is so discretely sophisticated, that most brides automatically go for it. And while it’s an otherwise predictable go-to choice, one cannot dismiss its popularity and well, it’s flattering form. Whether you decide to go for a princess-cut off-the-shoulder bridal gown, or a more pared-down volume, bare shoulders fortunately go extremely well with all styles. From puffs of lace to embellished fabrics and so much more, we’ve scoured the best off-the-shoulder bridal gowns to have hit the Spring-Summer 2019 bridal runways. Happy wedding shopping!

What Your Bridesmaids Are Not Telling You – 5 Things That Annoy Them

Having a good and solid bridal party is probably the best thing you can have – after the groom of course. So it only seems fair that the bride tries her best to please her bridesmaids, correct?

So bride-to-be, this time around, we’re addressing the conversation to you. Whether you like it or not, there are some things that you’re doing – although unintentionally – that might be really putting off your bridesmaids. You’re probably thinking to yourself right now “but it’s my day”. Well it is, but paying close attention to your bridesmaids’ feelings is of dire importance.

So, we’ve noticed that there are a few crucial details that can really annoy your bridal party if you don’t pay attention to them. Scroll down to find out more…

  1. The inevitable dress. Sure, the thunder is yours, but don’t go picking the absolute worst dress for your bridesmaid(s). Here’s the thing, while we know you have your bridesmaid’s interest at heart, you sometimes tend to forget about three important factors: her body type, her style and her financial standing.
  2. The hairdo. You know how you personally want to look your ultimate best when going to a wedding? Well so does everyone else. So you can understand if your bridesmaids want their hair done in a certain way, can’t you? That said, if you impose a common hairdo, you’re going to get burned at the stake.
  3. Ah, the shoes. The issue of height and whatnot has always been an impending question for the bridal party. What do you do if one of your bridesmaid is taller than you are? Well first things first, don’t undermine her. So what if she’s taller? You’ll be the queen of the ball with the fairytale dress either way, so don’t sweat it.
  4. Being ungrateful. If there’s one thing we know about bridesmaids is the length they would go to keep the bride happy. That could range from organizing the bachelorette party, the bridal shower and to helping out with the wedding itself. So failure to thank them is a big no-no.
  5. Finally, getting all worked-up if one of your bridesmaids can’t attend one of your many events. Don’t forget that we’re in the 21st century, which means you probably have friends from the four corners of the world. So say you’re organizing a big celebration and your living-abroad bridesmaid can’t make it; What would you do? For starters, don’t break out in hives – it’s nothing personal, we all have lives of our own and the important thing is that she makes it to your wedding.
