What's the difference between BB and CC creams?

I first heard about BB creams from my Korean friend. She told me about this amazing product popular in Asia that is not only good for your skin, but also makes your skin look light and flawless. Naturally, when they became available, I started using them religiously. So when CC creams came out, I was so confused. Which one is better and which one do I need? Well it really all depends on your skin concerns.

A BB cream stands for beauty balm or blemish balm. They are usually hydrating and thats why they make your skin glowy and dewy.  CC creams are color correcting and great for uneven skin tone. BB and CC creams are both great to treat the skin, make it look even and also a great way to incorporate sunscreen into your routine. I love the hydration that BB creams provide, but I also love that the CC cream hides all my red areas. I guess, depending on the day, and the way your skin looks, switch back and forth between the two.

I am all about the natural dewy skin look on a daily basis. I just want something I can throw on in the morning that's not only going to protect my skin from the sun, but is also going to feel light and make my skin look presentable. Guerlain Lingerie de Peau BB Cream SPF 30 is one of my favorites because it contains hyaluronic acid which literally plums up the skin.

For some reason, sometimes my skin gets blotchy. These red patches of skin drive me crazy. I am so envious of girls with perfect skin that wear no makeup. For that unwanted blotch,I use the Giorgio Armani Luminessence CC Color Control Bright Moisturizer SPF 35  not only to look like I have naturally perfect skin, but also to help even out my skin tone. I also love that they offer a range of color shades to match my own skin color.

I love using these buildable products almost every day and every season. Whether you choose a BB or a CC cream, make sure you try out a few different shades to find the right one for you. Many of these products can be on the rosey side but our Middle Eastern skin tones require something a bit more golden.

Tip: Add a drop of your foundation for some added coverage and create the perfect shade for you.
