The Masculine Trend: The Do’s And Don’ts

When you hear “masculine trend”, you automatically picture women in mannish suits, don’t you now? What if we can guarantee you, you can wear suit combinations, chunky soles, shirts, ties and whatnot and still look impeccably feminine?

Yes ladies, style casters have finally found the perfect combination between masculine and feminine: the famous gender vagueness. Indeed, you can now enter a world where you can choose from two different closets, yours and his! How awesome is that?

But as much as we would want to go wild with it, this trend is a double-edged sword. Either you harness it via accessories and turn yourself into an elegant diva or it goes terribly wrong and you end up looking like a tall version of Oliver Twist!

So if you’re looking for some masculine-meets-feminine style, then here are our golden rules!

Do wear a long double-breasted blazer with matching skinny pants and maybe a pair of mocassins to seal the deal!

Don’t wear sneakers or chunky soles with a suit combination. It’s an either/or equation!

Do wear chunky soles with a cute skirt as to balance out the masculine effect. A little cape and a cute beanie from here and there and voila! An outfit to remember!

Do bring a masculine edge to your outfit by adding a stylish necktie to a button-down shirt and a school-girl skirt.

If you opt for a pantsuit, don’t go for a baggy ensemble; make sure it is form-fitting and flattering.

And if you are wearing a loose pantsuit, you can always balance things out with a pair of pumps and a nice clutch. Poise is key!

Do pair colorful oxfords with high-waisted pants, an elegant shirt and a cute blazer.

Time to Man up ladies!
