My Jewelry Obsession – Tiara vs. Crown

Some might think it’s the same but the difference is actually huge. It’s true, they both embody a refined taste in jewelry and all things sparkly, but they are totally different and it’s time we all learnt about said differences.

Let’s start with the tiara! It makes every woman look and feel like a princess and every lady dreams of wearing one on her wedding day – and this comes as no surprise. In fact, the tiara is a highly coveted headpiece thanks to its elegant and delicate design. It is also a type of crown that is only worn by women. With its semicircular base and its facet that covers the front part of the head, it’s extremely hard to find a replacement for such a marvel, no matter what its design is.

Worn by queens and kings, the crown is a richly ornamented headpiece that is made of precious materials and gems. Its impressive and attractive allure makes it a highly sophisticated royal piece for both men and women. This symbol of authority and superiority has a full circular base that rests above the head and covers it entirely with all its glory and elegance. With its design that is higher than a tiara, this exquisite piece has proven its ability to stand the test of times and remain the queen of all jewelry pieces.

Jewelry houses such as Cartier, Boucheron, Chaumet, Graff and Van Cleef & Arpels – to name a few – are known for creating such pieces for royalties, so stay tuned to know more!
