One of the latest trends in the jewelry world is pink gold. We find it everywhere, in every jewelry collection unveiled by a jewelry house. We like it for the unusual touch it adds to our jewelry box and to our looks. Must we say more to make you feel excited about knowing the difference between its difference kinds?

Rose gold is a mix between gold and copper. It first became popular in Russia at the beginning of the nineteenth century, which explains its nomination of “Russian gold”, then its popularity spread universally in the 21st century.

The question is the following: what’s the difference between rose, pink and red gold? They are all of the same family and have this pinky hue that makes us fall in love with it. Let’s admit, no woman on earth doesn’t like the glow pink gives her skin!

Red gold comes in 12 carats, which is 50% gold – 50% copper and in 18 carats, which is made from 75% gold and 25% copper. To get the 18-carat rose gold, jewelers mix 75% of gold with 22.25% copper and 2.75% of silver, while the secret behind the 18-carat pink gold is a combination of 75% of gold, 20% of copper and 5% of silver

However, did you know that rose gold is not only dedicated for jewelry-making, as high-end flutes are also very commonly made of solid 14-carat rose gold? Now that’s an interesting fact!
