Lady Arpels Ballerine Enchantée d’Orient Exclusive Watch

Meet Van Cleef & Arpels’ newest offspring with Dubai Opera, also known as the Lady Arpels Ballerine Enchantée d’Orient, created exclusively for the Middle-East. Consider it a majestic reinterpretation of the original Lady Arpels Ballerine Enchantée Poetic Complications™, where its graceful design meets a new colorful creation within the collection.

The French Maison seems to be exploring yet again the world of dance, as the timepiece itself is in line with the well-known fluidity of the movement, its lightness and utter refinement. Think a light-aired watch bringing the whimsical world of dance to your own wrist!

Should you go back in time, you would undoubtedly notice that the whole memorabilia dates back to the 1940s in New York, where the Maison’s first ballerina clips were harnessed, soon becoming a signature of Van Cleef & Arpels. And what was once just an illusion became a version of reality, strengthened by Claude Arpel and co-founder of the New York City Ballet George Balanchine, who together created the Balanchine ballet Jewels performed in New York in 1967. From New York to Paris, it only seemed fair that the Maison would spread its shiny wings unto the Dubai Opera, adding yet another page to its Ballet diary.

The feminine watch itself is synonymous with greatness as it features a translucent green enamel on a guilloche dial with a 40-mm yellow gold and diamond case. But perhaps its most alluring characteristic might just be the enamel ballerina on the dial who graciously morphs into a butterfly to display the time, as her sculpted gold tutu rises on the left side to form a butterfly wing and point to the hour, followed by a move on the right side to form yet another butterfly wing that points to the minutes. The Maison’s staple double retrograde movement permits the wings to form again the shape of a tutu, hence forming an intricate movement. And as the wearer craves technicality, the state-of-the-art ballerina indicates time with just a simple gesture of the veils after a push-button display.

The cherry on top? The frivolous timepiece is accompanied by a melting pot of elegant jewelry creations, from yellow gold to malachite and diamonds.

The limited edition collection is made out of 22 pieces and will be available in boutiques from the 22ndof January at the Dubai Mall, at the Mall of the Emirates and the Galleria Mall.
