IWC Schaffhausen Celebrates Sport with a Timepiece

In celebration of its 10th collaborative year with Laureus Sport for Good, IWC Schaffhausen unveils the Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” at the Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony in Berlin. What makes this watch special is not only that it is limited to 1500 pieces, but the drawing engraved on its case back is the winning design from last year’s IWC Children’s drawing competition – which reminds us that a portion of the sales’ proceeds will support the organization’s social projects.

This year, the chosen watch is a member of the Portofino family and the notable Laureus blue finds its place in the dial and the moon phase. 12 diamonds indicate the hours, while a blue alligator leather strap from Santoni adds to the elegance of the timepiece. Suitable for watch enthusiasts with a slender wrist, this watch is powered by the automatic 35800-calibre movement that features a 42-hour power reserve.

“I am proud that we have been able to support this important and necessary work for the tenth year running with a special edition”, says Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.
