How to Prevent and Treat Pigmentation

I’ve always been obsessed with tanning, and although I don’t have a very fair complexion, the sun has left me with some pigmentation spots. Whether it’s sun damage or hormones, those dark spots that appear on the face are not cute. How can we get rid of existing spots and prevent new ones? Of course, staying out of the sun or using sunscreen is your best bet. But the scary part is those spots could show up decades after sun exposure; so basically even if you protect yourself now, that summer you spent at the beach when you were 20 can show up at your 40th Birthday! Don’t worry we can fix the damage. Lasers have come a long way to fix these dark spots, but some treatment require a bit of down time. Check with your dermatologists as they will know which laser treatment works best for your spots. Sadly though, just like laser hair removal, if you don’t have light skin you’re out of luck. There are also creams that bleach the area to lighten it. Sounds a little risky, but if you prefer something a little safer many brands like Shiseido have products to lighten these spots. I love home remedies and I swear by this one; all you need is the juice of a potato mixed with lemon juice to make a little overnight mask. After one week you should see a difference!
