Go to Work in Style

We’re pretty sure going to work isn’t on the list of top 10 things you would rather do on any given day – that and driving during rush hour – but since most of us don’t really have a choice in this matter, we’re going to assume you are very thrilled about it. Dressing up for work usually depends on your work environment; for instance, if you work in a corporate setting, then you really don’t want to barge in an A-line skirt and bright pink tee. Similarly, if you work in the fashion industry, going to work in a structured pantsuit is not the best idea – at all.

That said, no matter where you work or what you do, you milady, are a powerful woman who hence needs to put herself in the brightest fashionable limelight. Indeed, this year, you’re going to want to dress like the best version of yourself because the trends are literally endless and you would be remiss to ignore all the fun. Below, we’ve gathered some (not so) strict guidelines for you to follow every day.

  1. Before you pick out your outfit, consider where you actually work. If you work in the fashion industry, then there aren’t really any rules, but if you work for a bank or a corporation, then make sure to first check your office environment before deciding on your next move.
  2. No matter where you work, never wear short shorts.  Not only is it tacky, but it’s also out of style.
  3. Spruce up your denims with a pair of minimalist mules. Because yes, this season, mules are just everything.
  4. If you’re a big fan of pantsuits, then make sure you pick a colorful suit. Our favorite colors vary from pastel shades to more bright hues.
  5. Feel more powerful in a skirt-suit! Enough said.
  6. Make sure your accessories are not very much out there. Pick something that screams style but in an utterly discrete way – think cross-body bags, top-handle bags and no- open toe shoes.
