Four Eyes: Eyeshadow Quads

In this busy fast paced world, eyeshadow seems like something that requires so much effort. Pairing up shades to get the perfect look? Let’s face it none of us have time for that. With that said, I’m a huge fan of the Eyeshadow Quad. These four eyeshadows have been combined in a convenient little package to leave out the guess work. In the past most quads only really had one shade you really loved and some of them left us wondering who wore this super frosty white shade? Thanks to the smokey eye trend, palettes have become all the rage. For us minimalists, these new quads are the perfect answer and companies have nailed the perfect shade combos by using input from makeup artists. Here are a few that will make you wonder how you lived without them.

Givenchy Prisme Quatuor COLOR 7 Tentation is great for fall. Beautiful plum shades with a gold and champagne highlight make it perfect for the holiday season’s smokey eyes.

Another issue with quads was all that shimmer. For everyday, I prefer a matte look and the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad in COLOR Rust has the perfect warm brownish shades with lighter tones for contrast. She also did something brilliant: how many times do you run out of the light colored base before the rest of the shades? Well that’s why she includes a plus size of the base shades and three smaller shades.

Feel like a bronzed goddess with Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Golden Mink. Shimmer might be an issue but bronze is another story, the more it’s pigmented the better, we can’t get enough of this one.

For us control freaks, MAC gives you the freedom to create your own palette. After all who knows the best shades for us better than ourselves? With removable pans, MAC makes you feel like your own artist by giving you the option of making your own quad. If you could use some help, they also have ready-made ones like the Brant Brothers 4 Pillars eye shadow quad which is beyond perfection.
