If we know a thing or two about Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu, it’s that he has an undeniable love for all things ancient. But who better than him to turn dust into diamonds? Indeed, his Spring-Summer 2018 collection was a mishmash of brocade dresses and coats with contemporary movements. Floral motifs were scattered all around strapless dresses and one-shouldered designs, while tweed pantsuits were rendered more original with large cropped trousers.

Models sashayed their way onto the runway in socks and heels, as a nod to the ever-growing trend – think street style empowerment.  Along came the metallic high-slit midi skirts and white gloves to add a touch of glamor to the whole collection. The prints and patterns were forever existent, melting away in a sea of high-neckline dresses and puff-shouldered designs. Some looks were upholstered with consecutive bows on the model’s torsos – very Audrey Hepburn-ish – and others were just shining with colorful tinsels. Leave it to the Canadian designer to introduce the newest trends to age-old designs!
